PRESS RELEASE

Cogne Acciai Speciali Reconfirms its leadership in sustainability also for 2024

Once again this year, the Istituto Statista, in collaboration with Il Sole 24 Ore, has recognised Cogne Acciai Speciali among the leading Italian companies in sustainability for its commitment to the environment, society and its own employees.

Cogne Acciai Speciali has once again won the “title” of sustainability leader for 2024.

As last year, the survey aimed to assess the level of commitment to corporate sustainability in the field of ESG: Environmental, Social and Governance.

The research group examined both large and small and medium-sized companies from different sectors throughout the country, and the ranking was established on the basis of sustainability reports, integrated reports and financial reports.

"Companies today must assume great responsibilities on environmental issues, governance and the well-being of employees and the communities that host them," commented Massimiliano Burelli, CEO of Cogne Acciai Speciali. “At Cogne, we are constantly striving to improve, with absolute respect for the safety of our employees, of the environment and of the planet, which is why I am extremely proud of this award.”

"Being recognised for the second year in a row as one of the leading sustainability companies is a major milestone for Cogne," said Monica Pirovano, General Manager of Cogne Acciai Speciali. "We are proud of the progress we have made in integrating sustainability into our corporate strategy and will continue to work to promote concrete initiatives that generate a positive impact on our stakeholders and the environment. This reward motivates us to pursue further improvements and set an example of excellence in sustainability.”

General Manager Monica Pirovano added: “I also think that this award strengthens the company's commitment to sustainability, underlines the role of Cogne Acciai Speciali as a responsible company aware of environmental and social challenges. Since 2017, the company has voluntarily been publishing its annual Sustainability Report, which is also audited by an independent auditing firm, communicating the economic, social and environmental impacts of its activities.”

The Istituto Statista, which has been involved in producing rankings of the most sustainable companies in Italy, is an independent research institute specialised in rankings and analysis of company data.
